greg-sensei-japan > My crib in Shikamachi. Shikamachi literally means Deer Town and there are, in fact, a small number of deer in the hills and mountains behind my house. There are also monkeys and wild boar, and some unknown animal that I hear howling manically late at night when I'm stumbling back from the sushi bar. My place is the White House. I live in the part on the left side. The area on the right side of the pictures fills up with water when the tide comes in. In the summer crabs lay their eggs there and around July and August there are small crabs scuttling all over the roads near my house.
